Hi,
Meet Jordan

Jordan was born on the 30/04/2009, with a RARE bowel condition. His doctors initially thought the problem would be easily reversible. Jordan underwent surgery the day after he was born and doctors discovered that his condition was far worse then they originally anticipated. Jordan was given a central line which gives him all his nutrition intravenously as his bowel doesn’t absorb food properly. He had three surgeries within his first month of life and we were told to wait, and hope that his bowel would start working on it’s own as he grew. Jordan spent the first year of his life in hospital, never seeing his home.

I am one of Jordan’s Godmothers; I spent many hours and days staying at the hospital since he was born, helping to care for him. He is nearly two now and is happily living at home while still attached to his machines for nutrition. And has only had a few trips back into hospital. His latest trip in to hospital was due to dehydration.

Most babies find it difficult to regulate their own body’s temperatures and with his bowel problem it is impossible to give him excess water to keep him hydrated because his stomach doesn’t handle it. Jordan’s house doesn’t have air-conditioning, his room particularly gets very hot in summer here in Australia where we have 40+ degree Celsius days. Jordan spends a lot of time in his room for procedures each day to set his machines and nutrition up as well as other cares he must have done.

This is mainly why I am raising money for him, to help get his house air-conditioned to help keep his environment a more regulated temperature, and to raise money for his medical equipment he needs. His mother stays home to look after him and his three year old brother while his father works shift work. I would love to be able to raise enough money to get him the comfort he needs to reduce the chance of him being put back in hospital. One of the other godmothers and I call ourselves his fairy godmothers. I would love to be his actual fairy godmother and give him everything he needs to be as happy and healthy as can be.

So I am asking you to be as generous as you can be and spare some change and donate anything you can to this little boy who has had a hard beginning to life. Thank you
